And a decade went whoosh...
January 1999...
And then suddenly one morning he was coming down the hall from his room, arms raised triumphantly in the air, declaring "I'm ten!!!"

He opted for cash instead of a big party, but had one of his best friends over today to help him celebrate with lots of video game time, worm and dirt cupcakes (Matthew's request after recently seeing pictures from his 5th birthday), and a few gifts. He was happy and content, and had a wonderful day. :)
Yep, ten candles make a heck of a lot of smoke (which is what he is laughing at), and 10 years seem to have disappeared almost as quickly as that smoke.
Happy Birthday, my dear son. :)

Yes, I agree - those ten years sure did seem to go 'whoosh', didn't they? Love the baby picture, and wow, but Matthew seems so much bigger than the last pics I saw of him. Sending (belated?) Happy Birthday wishes Matthew's way; James' turn will be this Sunday. :)
yes, it does go by much too quickly....
